HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
Here's a cartoon title card-style piece of Hanna-Barbera's J. EVIL SCIENTIST, his wife GOONDA and their son JUNIOR. Known as MR. and MRS. J. EVIL SCIENTIST, the spooky-fun family originally appeared in a 1961 SNAGGLEPUSS cartoon! The terrifying trio went on to star in their own comic book series published by Gold Key. I did this piece for Steve Banes, who is the Art Director at East West DVD of Brooklyn, NY and North Hollywood, CA. Steve's a big fan of Hanna-Barbera and Mr. and Mrs. J. Evil Scientist! I do quite a few DVD cartoon cover illustrations for Steve and East West. I appreciate all of the work, Steve! HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYBODY!
Speaking of Halloween, thought you might enjoy my little Halloween "card":

HAPPY HALLOWEEN Patrick!
ReplyDeletePatrick,
ReplyDeleteFantastic reference which you made, invloving the monsterous Evil Scientist family on your blog!
Seeing this reference, it came on my mind, a dialogue between Mrs. Evil Scientist and his son Junior, on the final scene from the Snooper & Blabber episode Big Diaper Caper:
"Junior, how many times I've said you to don't let your pets on loose at home?"
And the baby (who's a real monster project [literally]):
"GWAH-GWAH!"
Only a detail: the monsterous Evil Scientist family appeared originally not on this Snagglepuss episode (Fraidy Cat Lion), and yes on that Snooper & Blabber episode which I quoted above (Big Diaper Caper, from 1959).
