Thank you to everyone for your birthday wishes today! I truly appreciate it! Leslie really made my birthday special this year...thank you, Honey! I love you! xoxoxo
Even though the Fall season is well underway, it still feels like Summer here in the San Fernando Valley. High temps in the mid-80s tomorrow! Looking forward to the cooler weather...it'll be here eventually. From my collection...here's WALT DISNEY'S SUMMER FUN #2 from 1959.
Love this 1960s PORKY PIG doll from Mattel! Wouldn't it be great if Warner Bros. Consumer Products re-issued the LOONEY TUNES merchandise from the 1960s?
Just saw that there's another ALVIN & THE CHIPMUNKS movie being released this Christmas. It's called, "Chipwrecked". I saw the trailer, and the Chipmunks sing Lady Gaga in this installment. Can it get any worse? I don't even want to post the trailer here...you can find it on YouTube, if you really want to see it. I think it would be great to do a vintage-styled 2-D animated movie that looks like the images above...what ALVIN & THE CHIPMUNKS were intended to be.
Love this early 1960s CHICAGO CUBS bobblehead! I had one of these up until a few years ago, but I'm now looking to add another one to my CUBS collection.
Love this 1966 card promoting the BATMAN TV show! I think the word balloon tail should have been pointing at ROBIN, though..."HOLY T.V. SET!!!" should be ROBIN's line. 8^)
I'm enjoying THE GREEN HORNET TV series here in the office/studio! I bought a 6-disc DVD set on eBay, and I'm VERY happy with the video and audio quality...both are EXCELLENT! The seller states that the episodes were transferred from the original 35mm prints, and they look like it! Complete and unedited episodes with no TV logo bugs!
Love this comic book advertisement for ABC-TV's 1967 Saturday Morning TV line-up! Featuring Hanna-Barbera's FANTASTIC FOUR...THE BEATLES cartoon show...Rankin/Bass' KING KONG...SPIDER-MAN and Jay Ward's GEORGE OF THE JUNGLE!
AL HALL, the longtime Producer/Director of WGN-TV's BOZO'S CIRCUS in Chicago, has passed away at the age of 82. Al was a huge part of classic Chicago kids TV!
Happy 136th Birthday to TARZAN creator, Edgar Rice Burroughs! Love the TARZAN Aurora model kit advertisement! Below is one of the first TARZAN comic books I remember buying off the spinner rack...TARZAN #233 from 1974. Always loved Joe Kubert's TARZAN art!
Here's a cool "behind-the-scenes" pic from the pilot episode of BATMAN, "Hi Diddle Riddle". ADAM WEST as BATMAN and JILL ST. JOHN as MOLLY in the discotheque, What a Way to Go-Go!
