GOTHAM CITY POLICE HQ - 1966 BATMAN TV SHOW

Here's something for the 1966 BATMAN TV show fan! As you know, BATMAN and ROBIN (Adam West and Burt Ward) were shown running up the front steps of Gotham City Police Headquarters at the beginning of many episodes. The "building" is located on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank, CA. A few years ago, while working as a Character Artist / Inker at Warner Bros. Consumer Products, I walked over to the "building" and took these photos. Being a great fan of the BATMAN TV show, it was neat to see the facade that was Gotham City Police Headquarters. LAUREL AND HARDY 1968 COLORING BOOK - MINT!

Last night, I listed this MINT condition LAUREL AND HARDY coloring book on eBay (under seller powsley). Published in 1968 by Western Publishing of Racine, WI, the coloring book is from the Western Printing / Golden Book Archive. A few years ago, David Scheve at THE DEEP ARCHIVES had a few of my original art pieces for sale on his site. THE DEEP ARCHIVES is the on-line archive of cartoon and animation art. David created the above banner for his site's homepage. He's a fan of great cartoon art and you should really check out his site. THE HANNA-BARBERA STUDIO

I took these photos back in August of 1998. The HANNA-BARBERA studio would have been a great place to visit (and work!) back in the early to mid-1960s! The structure still stands today at 3400 Cahuenga Blvd. in Hollywood. Note the HANNA-BARBERA sign on the roof in the first and second photos. That sign has since been removed. There's a lot of TV cartoon history in this building! Click on the photos for larger views!

Here's a couple of AUGIE DOGGIE and DOGGIE DADDY licensing art pieces. I inked these for Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Hanna-Barbera Licensing. Pencil art by Mike Fontanelli. You'll notice in the image below that the fishing poles have no color. This piece was used to show only the characters colors to Licensees.
