UNDERDOG & RIFF RAFF

This is my embossed art of UNDERDOG and RIFF RAFF on the back of the recently released UNDERDOG: COMPLETE COLLECTOR'S EDITION DVD set box. The colorist at Shout! Factory or Classic Media screwed up...there's an area between Underdog's right arm and his body that should have been filled in blue. 8^)

I love the DC books with the go-go checks! This 1967 DC Comics ad features terrific hand-lettering by then-DC letterer and logo designer, IRA SCHNAPP! What a great pop art design!

Finally received my UNDERDOG: COMPLETE COLLECTOR'S EDITION DVD set today! Here's a few of my UNDERDOG pieces appearing in the set's booklet and DVD case inserts. I'm happy that Shout! Factory and Classic Media used a lot of my UNDERDOG art throughout the set. 8^)

SHELDON MOLDOFF 1920-2012

Sorry to see that Golden Age and Silver Age comic book artist SHELDON MOLDOFF has passed away at 91. Moldoff is best known for drawing HAWKMAN and BATMAN for DC Comics. Here's a MOLDOFF piece that hangs in my office/studio. It was inked and colored by MITCH O'CONNELL.

I was very saddened this morning when I heard the news that Davy Jones had passed away. Above is the DAVY sketch card from my set of MONKEES cards...and below is a pic that Davy signed for Leslie and I about two weeks ago in Burbank, CA. The very bottom pic was taken by Leslie of Davy signing our pic. 8^)

Leslie and I had a great day at DISNEYLAND today! We had a terrific lunch at the Blue Bayou restaurant, which is located inside the PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN attraction. Also...above is the cover for VACATION IN DISNEYLAND #1 FROM 1965. 8^)
