LON CHANEY JR. as THE WOLF MAN by legendary horror artist BASIL GOGOS.
Leslie and I are DISNEYLAND deluxe annual pass holders, and we always get our money's worth by taking numerous trips to the classic theme park. That's one of the many things we have in common...we both love DISNEYLAND! The above image is the poster for DISNEYLAND U.S.A., the Cinemascope PEOPLE AND PLACES featurette. The featurette is included on the WALT DISNEY TREASURES DVD set, DISNEYLAND: SECRETS, STORIES & MAGIC. If you're a fan of DISNEYLAND, and you haven't yet seen this terrific documentary, I highly recommend it! Click on the DISNEYLAND U.S.A. poster image for a larger view!
This BUGS BUNNY statue was produced in 1996 for the Warner Bros. Studio Store Collectors Guild. BUGS BUNNY is ceramic and stands almost 7" tall. I found this statue at one of the Studio Store sales that was on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank back in 1999, for the low price of $10! What a deal for a great-looking classic BUGS BUNNY piece! NOTE: LOOK AT MY DECEMBER 17, 2008 POSTING FOR THE HEAT MISER & SNOW MISER ORIGINAL ART THAT I AM OFFERING!Actor, GEORGE S. IRVING, will receive the Oscar Hammerstein Award for Lifetime Achievement in Musical Theatre on December 8 in New York City. Click HERE to read the article from Playbill! GEORGE S. IRVING was also the voice of HEAT MISER in the 1974 Rankin/Bass production, THE YEAR WITHOUT A SANTA CLAUS, and was a voice cast member of THE UNDERDOG SHOW in 1964. Congratulations, Mr. Irving!
I did this WINSOME WITCH inking earlier today. The pose is from a WINSOME WITCH model sheet. Like the SQUIDDLY DIDDLY and CHIEF WINCHLEY inkings that I posted yesterday, this is brush, pen & ink on duralene with white opaque watercolor...and available to own. E-mail me at powsley@flash.net. Love these early HANNA-BARBERA characters! The WINSOME image area is about 4 1/4" x 8". WINSOME WITCH goes well with the Halloween season! Click on the photo for a larger view. Thanks! -- Patrick Owsley
Just finished this inking of the classic Hanna-Barbera characters, SQUIDDLY DIDDLY and CHIEF WINCHLEY. It's 8 1/2" x 11" and is brush, pen & ink on duralene with white opaque watercolor. It's available to own, too. Just e-mail me at powsley@flash.net. Click on the photo for a larger view. Thanks! -- Patrick Owsley
Be sure to go out and pick up the new LOONEY TUNES GOLDEN COLLECTION VOLUME 6 DVD set today! I picked up my set at Best Buy, where the DVD set comes with an 80-page excerpted edition of Jerry Beck's, LOONEY TUNES - THE ULTIMATE VISUAL GUIDE. We need to send a message to Warner Bros. Home Video that we want more of their classic cartoon library released on DVD...which also includes classic HANNA-BARBERA cartoons! So, pick up the new LOONEY TUNES set today or order it on-line!
This piece is 14" x 17"...it's brush, pen & ink with white opaque watercolor on bristol board. It's available to own, too! Just e-mail me at powsley@flash.net or scroll down to my LINKS section (it'll be on the right) to click on my EBAY AUCTIONS link! Click on the photo for a larger view.
I highly recommend THE THREE STOOGES COLLECTION Vol. 4 - 1943-1945 DVD set! The set was released last week, so if you don't have it yet, be sure to pick it up soon! The set is loaded with more of the classic comedy of MOE, LARRY and CURLY! The above image of the STOOGES has nothing to do with the new DVD set. I just liked this art of the 1960s TV cartoon THREE STOOGES.
You know what helps me get into the HALLOWEEN spirit? Reading my MUNSTERS comic books and watching THE MUNSTERS on DVD! Click on each image for a larger view!
Be sure to pay a visit to the HORROR HOST GRAVEYARD blog this HALLOWEEN season! Today's featured TV horror host is Chicago's, SVENGOOLIE! You'll see some great clips of SVENGOOLIE hosting SCREAMING YELLOW THEATRE in the early 1970s. I loved watching SVENGOOLIE every Friday night on Chicago's WFLD-TV Ch. 32! The great JERRY G. BISHOP starred as SVENGOOLIE. Click on the photo for a larger view!
