TOM and JERRY!

Just recently added this 1966 Mattel TOM and JERRY talking hand puppet to my collection!  Love the colors that Mattel used on the puppet!  8^)

FROM MY COLLECTION...

What a terrific cover design! This is 1962's TOM and JERRY FUNHOUSE from Gold Key Comics. I really wish today's graphic "designers" who work with classic cartoon product, would look at stuff like this for inspiration. Some do, but most have no genuine interest...and it shows in their work. Most graphic "designers" today have no basic design skills or sense.

Art for a TOM and JERRY activity book cover published by Golden Books. My inking over pencil art by Mark Christansen!

TOM and JERRY cartoon fun! Love the above 1960 comic book cover by Harvey Eisenberg! Terrific layout and beautiful design!...something you don't see very often anymore. Below is a box of TOM and JERRY Crayons from 1966...looks like the Chuck Jones characters. Jones was doing the TOM and JERRY cartoons at the time.

Saw this on Facebook...it was posted by Facebook friend, Charles Brubaker. It's a cool ad for the Chuck Jones TOM & JERRY cartoons, so I thought I'd share it here! MGM placed the ad in the November 29, 1965 issue of BoxOffice magazine. I was just watching the DVD set of the Chuck Jones TOM & JERRY cartoons. Click on the ad for a larger view!

Here's a few more of the character art inkings I did for the TOM AND JERRY VINTAGE style guide. Click on them for larger views.

I love these 1960s TOM AND JERRY Gold Key comic book covers! Beautifully laid-out and designed...something you don't see much of on any modern-day comic book cover, cereal box, movie poster, etc.

TOM AND JERRY - VINTAGE STYLE GUIDE INKINGS

Here's a few pieces of the TOM AND JERRY Vintage style guide character art that I inked a few years ago for Warner Bros. Consumer Products. I'm not sure who penciled the art.

WINTER FUN!

CHUCK JONES

I've been watching the recently-released TOM AND JERRY - THE CHUCK JONES COLLECTION DVD set...beautiful cartoons! Here's a couple of CHUCK JONES' more definitive characters, WILE E. COYOTE and the ROAD RUNNER. I had the pleasure of meeting CHUCK JONES once...at a lecture he gave at Warner Bros. in the late 1990s. I was working on-staff at Warner Bros. Consumer Products at the time.
