FUNKO FRED

I heard from BRIAN MARIOTTI, President of FUNKO, today. He showed me photographs of a new FRED FLINTSTONE vinyl figure that FUNKO is producing. The figure is based on the above FRED FLINTSTONE design that I did just over a year ago for Brian. Brian asked my opinion of the prototype figure and I felt that there were just a couple of minor adjustments. The FRED FLINTSTONE figure looked sensational and I hope to post photos here soon. FUNKO is doing some great figural product based on the old cool HANNA-BARBERA toys! Just the kind of stuff that classic HANNA-BARBERA fans have been wanting.

Cool, so the Funko Fred will have a blue 3 o'clock shadow then?

Patrick,

The Fred Flintstone which you drew, looks like the Fred drawn by Ed Benedict on the first season (1960-61) from The Flintstones (Hanna-Barbera/Columbia Pictures, 1960-66)!

Patrick Owsley,

If you saw the Fred Flintstone's "after shave" versions which John Kricfalusi made on his blog (http://johnkstuff.blogspot.com)...
These two "after shave" versions of Fred Flintstone appear on the topic Joe Barbera Tribute 1 from the Johnny K.'s blog.
Click on the following link: http://johnkstuff.blogspot.com/2006/12/joe-barbera-tribute-1.html.
I wish you a good luck!
