Leslie and I want to wish all of our friends and family a safe and Happy New Year! Here's my art of MR. MAGOO toasting 2012 from the new MR. MAGOO: THE TELEVISION COLLECTION 1960-1977 DVD set! 8^)
Happy 66th to DAVY JONES...and Happy 69th to MIKE NESMITH!
One of my MR. MAGOO pieces that appears in the new MR. MAGOO: THE TELEVISION COLLECTION 1960-1977 DVD set booklet. Glad to see this art being used! Thank you to Shout! Factory and Classic Media!
Two of my newest additions to my collection! Just have to find space to hang these in the office/studio! 8^)
Leslie picked this up for me today at Big Kid in Sherman Oaks, CA as an extra Christmas present. Love this new FROSTY THE SNOWMAN Wacky Wobbler from Funko! Saw some other Rankin/Bass Funko items and they all looked great! Especially the HEAT MISER & SNOW MISER Wacky Wobblers! Will have to get those soon. Look for them!
Detail of the cover art I created for a public domain DVD release of Rankin/Bass' JACK FROST...from East West DVD. The TV special has since received an official release, but the print quality is very good on this one. You may be able to find it at your local dollar store or 99 Cents store.
Here's a YOGI BEAR Christmas piece that I inked a few years ago for Yogi Bear/Hanna-Barbera licensing...Yogi, Ranger Smith, Cindy Bear and Boo Boo singing Christmas carols! Below is the "before" image that was penciled by Mike Fontanelli. 8^) Merry Christmas!
My cover art for a public domain DVD release featuring the classic Max Fleischer RUDOLPH cartoon and a very cool Halas & Batchelor cartoon, THE CHRISTMAS VISITOR! Thanks to East West DVD Art Director Steve Banes for this fun assignment! You still may be able to pick this one up at your local 99 Cents store. 8^)
One of my all-time favorite rock drummers! Back in 1975, PETER CRISS (and KISS) inspired me to become a drummer. 8^)
Did this inking of SUPERMAN a few years ago...for Warner Bros./DC Comics' SUPERMAN licensing. Below is the "before" pencil art.
My cover art for the public domain DVD release of THE ABBOTT & COSTELLO CHRISTMAS SHOW. I really appreciated East West DVD's then-Art Director, Steve Banes, for calling me to do these types of jobs for him! You may still be able to find this at your local 99 Cents store.
Great to see that Shout! Factory used a few of my MR. MAGOO character art pieces in their recent DVD box set release of MR. MAGOO: THE TELEVISION COLLECTION 1960-1977. Thank you, Shout! 8^)
Here's a couple examples of my inking for Hanna-Barbera licensing. I inked the character art poses used in these two AUGIE DOGGIE & DOGGIE DADDY images.
Print him and hang him on your wall!
Above image from the terrific book, CHRISTMAS WISHES, by Tim Hollis!
Love this old ARBY'S sign! This is not far from my home in Woodland Hills, CA. I remember this same exact cowboy hat-style sign at the ARBY'S restaurant in my hometown of Michigan City, IN when I was a kid.
Really enjoying these this time of year!
Looking forward to getting my copy of this new JACK DAVIS book from Fantagraphics! Ordered my copy yesterday.
Be sure to pick up TENNESSEE TUXEDO AND HIS TALES - THE COMPLETE COLLECTION on DVD March 6, 2012. The box for this 6-disc set features my artwork...thank you, Shout! Factory! "Tennessee Tuxedo will not fail!"
Congratulations to RON SANTO of the Chicago Cubs on his election into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame! Sure wish he was here to see it. HEY HEY!

Love this 1965 advertisement for McDonald's!
...to the legendary cartoon illustrator, JACK DAVIS! Happy 87th!
...and to actor JONATHAN FRID (BARNABAS COLLINS from TV's DARK SHADOWS)! "Barnabas" is also 87 today.
